High resolution babes
What’s better than photos of babes? High resolution photos of babes! I’ve rejiggered the photo pages a bit so that’s there’s more room to show the photo, and upped the resolution to 500×500 pixels. Hope you guys like it!
It’s good to share (babes)
My mom always told me it was good to share… and to that end, I’ve added a new “Share Photo” feature to the site, which you can use to share your favorite photos on del.icio.us, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Digg or Reddit, or simply email them to your friends. Just click the
button below the photo you’d like to share, and in the panel that appears, choose where you’d like to post the photo. I’ve also included handy embed and link URLs which you can use to embed photos into MySpace, a blog, or whatever….
Thanks to Alex King for the awesome Share This icon.
Babe Vs Babe for Mobile
Giving new meaning to the phrase “I’d like to tap that”
We’ve all been there before: you’re out and about, and you’re bored as heck… maybe you’re sitting on the subway on the way home from work, or shopping for shoes with your girlfriend, or even sitting in church, trying to focus on the sermon… when all of a sudden, you get an insatiable craving for babes.
You panic. How are you going to quell this uncontrollable urge?
Thankfully, you remember that you have Babe Vs Babe Mobile bookmarked on your iPhone. (You just knew that, when you plunked down that obscene amount of cash for Apple’s newest shiny gadget, it would prove to be handy one day.) Feeling a certain sense of satisfaction to discover that your purchase was justified, not to mention an immense feeling of relief that your thirst for babes is about to be quenched, you whip out your iPhone and go to m.babevsbabe.com.
You breathe a deep sigh of relief as you tap hot babe after hot babe after hot babe. Whew!
Bookmark m.babevsbabe.com to start tapping hot babes.
A new “block” feature
I’ve added a new, long-awaited and long overdue feature to block other users. If there’s someone that you don’t want to hear from, just click the
Block User link at the top of their profile. Once you block a user, they won’t be able to see your photos, write comments on your photos or your wall, send you private messages, or communicate with you in any way.
If you want to unblock a user, just go to your personal Contacts page. If you’ve blocked anyone, you’ll see a link there that will take you a list of the people you’ve blocked, and from there you’re a click away from unblocking them.
More photos!
A minor but welcome change: I’ve increased the photo upload limit from 30 to 50. Some of our best contributors were bumping up against that 30 photo limit, and it sucks to have to limit them.
Any other suggestions for changes? Let me know what you guys think!
Wall-to-Wall
I’ve added a long overdue feature: the Wall-to-Wall. Now you can see the wall messages between two people in a nice, formatted thread. Just click the “Wall-to-wall” link below a wall post to try it out!
Flickr meets HotOrNot
I’ve just added several new social networking-type features to Babe Vs Babe — I like to think of it as a mash-up of Flickr and HotOrNot. Granted, I have a ways to go before Babe Vs Babe can match all of Flickr’s amazing features, but we’ll get there….
In the meantime, check out the new features by clicking on the caption of the photo, or the “Enlarge Photo” link at the bottom of each picture…. Yes, you can view larger versions of the photos now, which for some of you may be the most woody-inducing feature. Not only that, but you can now see who submitted the photo and view other photos that they’ve submitted, as well as check out their personal details, who they’ve added as contacts, who their “fans” are, and other photos that they’ve marked as favorites. Oh yeah, there’s now public and private messaging, too, so you can tell your favorite hotties just how hot they are.
I love feedback, so let me know what you think of the new features and what you’d like to see in the future!
On Being in the Google Sandbox - A Webmaster’s Lament
Ranking well for my

My heart is filled with

for Google shows me love.
Hey what’s going on?
My site has dropped from page one
to page twelve. Oh noes!!
My heart fills with pain.
I’m sad. Nobody loves me.
Why, O Great Goog, why??
A “skip” button?
I’ve been asked to put a “skip” button on the website to skip a battle, for those times when you really can’t decide which of the two babes to pick.
I’m not all that opposed to the idea, but A) there’s no space on the page for it, and B) it would sort of defeat the purpose of the Condorcet voting method… maybe you don’t find either babe attractive, but you gotta pick the lesser of the two evils, otherwise less attractive photos wouldn’t get as many votes, and the battles wouldn’t average out properly.
Having said that, I’ll pull this stick out of my ass and let you in on a little tip: if you want to skip a battle, just click the BabeVsBabe logo or refresh the page. Ta-da!
