I had a particularly nasty experience with some blackcurrent vodka just a couple of weeks ago. My mate Will had just finished a big placement that he'd been doing and wanted to chill out, have a few drinks and watch a movie. Obviously as soon as I got there I decided to upgrade from "a few drinks" to "destroy our livers". Unfortunately he only had a couple of bottles so we decide to rock down to the nearest liquor store (luckily he lives in a pretty shitty neighbourhood - so there were quite a few to choose from). I had a compulsion to drink some vodka but I have recently decided that vodka and OJ is wack and wanted to try something new. I asked the impressively tattooed and pierced store attendant what he'd recommend and he pulled down a bottle of something called "Blakvod". This sounds pretty interesting so we pay the guy and head back to his crib to watch the film he'd chosen: "Awake", starring Jessica Alba (awesome) and Hayden Christensen (douche). After about 5 minutes, the quality of the acting and script became painfully apparent so we turned our attention to the drinking instead. MISTAKE - the amount of alcohol required to make that film bearable is about the same as it takes to kill a man...     Long story short - the only thing worse than being vomited on is having your clothes ruined by what can only be described as putrid purple puke.     We're still talking though, tonight he's coming over with a few other people over to catch up on the latest episodes of Prison Break and Heroes. And DAAAAMN was it a brutal game - within the first five minutes of the film we'd both already gone through a whole glass of drink. It was good though, one of those films that is massively improved by drunkeness and two hours later we had gone through a whole bottle of whiskey!     Ahh, drinking games are so much fun! Asides from the obvious stuff (alimony payments and crystal meth) I just cannot resist a funky looking hat! I just have tonnes of the damn things - it's like an addiction!     Unfortunately, one of my favourites was destroyed this weekend in a heartless act of wanton vandilism. It all started when I was visiting a couple of old friends and they decided to take me to this new club that had opened where they lived. Since it was a bit of a "trendy" bar full of prentious socialites I decided to rock the boat a bit and wear the craziest outfit I could: a funky black and white number with a snappy little flatcap. The music in the place actually turned out to be pretty good, so after we'd finished drinking we hit the dancefloor!   It was while we were there that this irritating drunk girl came up to me and started trying to make me have a dance-off with her friend.   Normally, I have a fool-proof way to avoid this scenario - simply agree to the battle, let them strut their stuff and then "surrender" without actually dancing, telling them that they are too good for me. This usually works a treat, as drunk people will usually accept the victory and bugger off - regardless of how much their dancing resembles an epileptic seizure.   However, this girl REALLY wanted to try and bring me down a notch and in the end I decided it would just be easier to go along with it.   So, after the battle, I tell the guy it was an honor to dance with him, said my polite goodbyes and went back to my friends.     But this damn girl wouldn't let it drop!!! She kept coming up to me and talking smack, telling me that I was ugly and that her friend was better than me in every way. When simply ignoring her didn't work I decided to take a more direct approach and suggested she might consider fornicating with a goat. This was when she got really angry and went for me and my innocent hat. I'm not going to recount the exact events of the attack because I still find it too traumatising, but suffice to say the hat will be dearly missed by its friends and family.   Luckily the psycho bitch then got forcibly removed by the bouncers leaving us to enjoy the rest of our evening.   It was quite nice that the guy I had battled came over and apologised to me later and explained that she was drunk and I reminded her of her ex, who had dumped her over Facebook the previous day :-D     Still, at least now I have a legitimate excuse to go and BUY MORE HATS!!!
